Smokefree Policy - updated

Smokefree Policy - updated

We now have a new and improved policy available on our website, which will be useful for all schools to use as a template.  It was written by SchoolDocs , specialist policy writers in consultation with smokefree schools.  Any feedback on the policy would be appreciated.  Email Kath Blair with your comments.

NZ Principals' Conference - reflections

NZ Principals' Conference - reflections

We enjoyed the opportunity to meet and chat to over 650 principals from around New Zealand. Topics discussed included requests for smokefree signage, assistance with quitting and writing policy, and smokefree success stories. We also had a very positive response to the preview of our new resources (see item below).

Free breakfast-eaters inserts for your school newsletter

Free breakfast-eaters inserts for your school newsletter

A new Health Sponsorship Council (HSC) promotion Breakfast-eaters have it better is encouraging parents and caregivers to make sure their children eat a good breakfast.  There’s evidence that kids who eat breakfast have better concentration in class and more energy for sport.

You can support your school community by downloading and using attractive inserts in your school newsletter to encourage families to eat something in the morning.

To download the resources visit breakfast-eaters.org.nz where you will also find lots of low-cost, easy and yummy breakfast ideas.
